Welcome to Shine, where we believe in the transformative power of love and beauty. Our mission is simple: to uplift courageous women by creating moments of care, confidence, and renewal through beauty and wellness services.
Survivors of domestic violence and LGBTQ+ youth often carry the heavy burden of physical, emotional, and psychological trauma. Shine provides a supportive space where they can step away from daily challenges, feel cared for, and reconnect with their sense of beauty, strength, and self-assurance.
MEET THE FOUNDERS
Scott Miller and Lindiwe Famodou grew up together in Detroit, Michigan. Their connection began at Winterhalter Middle School, where Lindiwe’s mother was both Scott’s science and dance teacher.
Years later, they reconnected in Atlanta, Georgia. Wanting to give back to their community in a meaningful way, Scott and Lindiwe gathered a small group of friends to create a day dedicated to care, encouragement, and pampering for women in need. In 2008, that first community pamper day became the beginning of what would grow into Shine.
GET INVOLVED
Shine invites you to support our mission to uplift and empower women and LGBTQ+ youth in need. We are seeking donations of pampering supplies and thoughtful gifts for the women and children currently residing in the safe house. Please contact us to arrange pickup for donated items.
