The mission of Shine is to bring a smile to women’s faces by pampering them with beautiful makeovers from head to toe. Throughout the year, Shine reaches out to safe houses, women’s centers, and individual households around the metro Atlanta area to present women with a day of beauty.

SHINE CHRISTMAS PAMPER DAY 2022

679E6E04-3339-40C1-BFBA-AB173A8A49E3_edi

Every Christmas season Shine provides free cosmetic services to survivors of domestic violence  residing in a shelter safe house. The mission of this event is to bring a smile to women’s faces on Christmas day by pampering them with beautiful makeovers from head to toe. On Christmas Day women will enjoy services including manicures, facials, hair styling, makeup, massage therapy and so much more!

More about the Women's Resource Center:

Founded in 1986, Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence (WRC) provides emergency shelter and supportive services for survivors of domestic violence. Those services include assistance with securing safe and stable housing, legal advocacy and support groups.

This shelter safe house is not unlike a home. Children go to school during the day and do homework in the evening. Moms head out to work or seek employment. There is family dinner time and laughs shared around the television. There isn’t, however, much money for extras. Each family is working and saving toward independence.

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Scott Miller and Lindiwe Famodou are both from Detroit, MI. Their bond goes back to Winterhalter middle school where Lindiwe's mother was Scott Miller science and dance teacher.

Reconnecting years later in Atlanta, Ga, Scott and Lindiwe both deciding not to return home for the holidays, sought out to give back to the community on Christmas day. They gathered a few friends together to help out and in 2007 the 1st Christmas pamper day was established.
